The term Healthy Family Parenting (HFP) was created to signify a merging of
the areas of health, family life, and parenting education. HFP was developed
to provide programs, workshops, and seminars to meet the needs of parents
and caregivers of children in northern New Jersey and surrounding areas.

With experience in both health and parenting education,
Amy Denekamp, a
parent herself, decided to incorporate her two specialties together to provide
consulting services to parents and caregivers. These populations have
educational needs that are often overlooked. For instance, a common
misconception is that parents should automatically know how to parent at
every stage of parenthood. However, anyone who is a parent knows that it
can be one of the hardest jobs he or she will ever take on and it's a job for
which no instruction manuals or on-the-job training are available or required.
However, education is key in order to take on the role as parent effectively
and with confidence.

There is so much information available via mass media that watching a
television show or reading a book may help temporarily, but such generic
resources cannot be relied upon to  provide assistance on a more personal,
case-by-case basis. Every family and every situation is different. Learning
effective strategies to strengthen your own parenting skills and family
relationships can help a lot toward keeping your own family happy and
healthy, both physically and mentally.  Healthy Family Parenting programs,
such as the popular Active Parenting Publisher workshops, can help!
